A former high school teacher will spend 13 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to having sex with a student as many as 30 times, including once on a school field trip to Washington DC. Heather Hare, 33, was a family consumer science teacher at Bryant High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her relationship with the student occurred between August 2021 and April 2022. Investigators found that Hare had sex with the student in her car, her home and even in her classroom. The student was a senior at the time. They first encountered each other, she was assigned to give him one on one counseling.

Several yoga instructors in San Diego are pursuing legal action against the city over a ban on their free beachside classes. A local attorney issued a cease and desist letter to city officials, challenging the enforcement of updated vendor laws that now include recreational activities like yoga. The instructors, who operate on a donation basis, believed their small classes were exempt from the ordinance. However, recent enforcement actions have surprised them, including blocking classes with trucks. The instructors argue their classes constitute protected speech and plan to seek an injunction against the ordinance's enforcement.

Robert Christie, a Chicago resident, is frustrated after years of semi-trucks damaging his property due to a nearby low-clearance bridge. Despite city-installed barriers and warning signs, trucks continue to reverse into his bungalow, causing repeated damage. In March, the city cited Christie for not repairing the damage, although officials now say no enforcement action will be taken. Christie has repaired his roof and gutters and installed a new fence but hesitates to replace a costly metal fence. He is considering selling his home if offered a good price, while hoping for more effective city intervention.

Dr. Jimmy Sullivan, the director of schools for Rutherford County - just outside of Nashville - wrote in a post that his younger son, Asher Sullivan, died at close to 1.20pm Saturday at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. The 10-year-old will become an organ donor and so he is still on life support at this time, according to local reports. The container ship that caused the deadly collapse of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge was refloated at high tide Monday and began slowly moving back to port, guided by several tugboats. The Dali had been grounded at the collapse site for weeks after it lost power and crashed into one of the bridge's supporting columns on March 26, killing six construction workers and halting most maritime traffic through Baltimore's busy port. The ship appeared to start moving shortly after 6am as crews began maneuvering it out of the wreckage. It started and stopped a few times before slowly backing away from the collapse site.
